ABOUT
About Us
Eugene Online Academy (EOA) is a tuition-free online learning option for students in grades 6–12, offered through Eugene School District 4J. EOA provides a flexible, supportive alternative to the traditional classroom. Every student is issued a laptop, and all instruction takes place online.
Instruction is primarily asynchronous, meaning students can complete most of their work on their own schedule. However:
- Students in grades 6–8 have one hour of required live (synchronous) instruction each school day.
- Students in grades 9–12 must complete unit assessments and final exams in person at scheduled times.
EOA students are supported by licensed 4J teachers and have regular check-ins to stay on track. They can choose from a wide variety of core and elective courses.
To remain enrolled in EOA, students must:
- Log in to each of their classes every school day,
- Maintain regular attendance, and
- Make adequate academic progress toward course completion.
Students may also participate in extracurricular activities at their neighborhood school or take in-person classes as space allows.
