Dear EOA 11th Grade Parents and Guardians,

This email outlines the option for EOA parents to "opt-in" to have their student take the Oregon State Assessments remotely.  

According to the State of Oregon, Department of Education, "If a school provides a student with predominantly remote or online instruction, they may offer that student the summative assessments remotely." Remote testing is not required.

In EOA, we do not offer "in-person" testing. Families have the option of joining a live testing session at their "home" school if desired.  Please reach out ASAP if you desire this option. 

We will offer a remote testing option for all EOA 6-8 and 11th-grade students.  I will proctor students whose families "opt-in to remote test," via a secure browser, and I will monitor progress as students take the 4 summative tests (2 Math/2 ELA) for 6th/7th grade - 5 for 8th grade and 11th grade (adding on Science).  
In order to set up the remote testing, Parents/Guardians must complete the "opt-in to remote test" form and return it to me, our testing coordinator (Eric Wade) to start scheduling the testing sessions with their student.   As soon as I receive an "opt-in" to remote test form, I will reach out to the student/family to set up a testing schedule.

Please note: If I do not hear from you and/or receive the linked and attached "opt-in to remote test" signed form, your student will not be testing this year.
