Important Update on EOA Testing for 2025–26

Posted Date: 08/22/25 (10:42 AM)

Dear Families,
When EOA first launched, students checked in weekly in person, and all testing was proctored on site. During the pandemic, enrollment grew quickly and those in-person requirements were set aside.
We have recently observed a concerning trend of students completing online courses at an unusually rapid pace, sometimes without demonstrating the learning needed for lasting success. To ensure that EOA coursework continues to reflect genuine achievement, all EOA assessments will now be taken in person, under proctor supervision.
Students will complete their testing in the Online Learning Lab at their school of residence. This change will help us:

  • Maintain the integrity of our courses.
  • Ensure academic credit reflects real learning.
  • Better prepare students for future studies and opportunities.
Students who have an IEP or 504 will be provided their accommodations. We understand that a small number of students may have medical or other circumstances that prevent them from attending in person at their school. If this applies to your student, please reach out directly to their school counselor to discuss possible accommodations.
We appreciate your partnership in reinforcing the importance of integrity and meaningful effort in your student’s education. If you have questions about this change or need support with scheduling, please contact your school’s Online Learning Lab coordinator.
